Experience
Kerrie developed her clinical practice at United Cerebral Palsy of Tampa and Tampa General Hospital. Kerrie proudly served as a speech-language pathologist in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), pediatric acute care, and on the Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation team. While serving on the Outpatient team, Kerrie identified a need in the community for a SLP with her background and experience to provide services in a more personalized setting. Through private practice, Kerrie brings qualified and compassionate care to your family. Specialized clinical services are also available to your family or care team via Telehealth!
Kerrie loves learning and growing with her clients and their families. Kerrie has completed training in the Medical, Motor, and Behavioral Approach to pediatric feeding, the Fragile Infant Feeding Institute, the Fraker and Walbert Food Chaining program, the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy program, and the Beckman Oral-Motor program. Kerrie is a member of the ASHA Special Interest Group (SIG 13) for Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.
Education
Kerrie earned a Bachelor of the Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders with High Honors from the University of Florida. Kerrie attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill then completed her clinical externships and Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of South Florida.
Teaching
As Adjunct Faculty at the University of South Florida, Kerrie taught Pediatric Language Disorders in Fall 2020, expanding the graduate students' background in preverbal language skills, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in emerging users, and infant-toddler feeding and swallowing development and dysphagia. Kerrie continues at USF as an Invited Speaker.
Kerrie was selected to present Yoga, Meditation & Mindfulness for the SLP, Audiologist & Related Healthcare Provider at the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) National Conventions in November 2021 and November 2022.
Community
Kerrie has volunteered with the PTSA school garden at Roland Park K-8 Magnet School since 2016. In 2023, Kerrie wrote a $1,500 grant for Booker T. Washington Elementary to start a school garden.
Kerrie has volunteered as the speech-language pathologist on vacations for families of children with special needs through Enriching Escapes, a local nonprofit improving the quality of life, mental health, and development of special needs children and their families by making possible guilt-free opportunities to relax and recharge.
Kerrie, her husband Matt (a licensed mental health counselor LMHC), and their two lovely daughters are proud to live, practice, and volunteer in Tampa.
